7075 is the most popular 7000 series alloy. Although newer 7000 alloys have since been developed with improved specific properties, alloy 7075 T651 temper remains the standard, exhibiting a good balance of properties required for aerospace structural components and other highly stressed applications. 7075 T651 combines strength, moderate toughness, resistance to corrosion, good machinability and light weight.
Our 7075 T651 aluminum plate has an unpolished (mill) surface, meets specifications AMS-QQ-A-250/12, AMS-4045 and/or ASTM B209, and has a standard tolerance. This material, primarily known as an aircraft alloy, is heat treatable. It has a T651 temper, meaning it has been heat treated for increased strength and then stretched to reduce stress.
