Good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, machinability, and a strength level similar to mild steel makes 6061 T651 temper a popular general-purpose alloy. 6061 has a lower cost than most other higher strength aerospace aluminum alloys. General tooling and jig plate, electronics, non-structural aircraft parts, storage tanks, and consumer products are among the many uses of 6061.
Our 6061 T651 aluminum plate has an unpolished (mill) surface, meets ASTM B209 and/or AMS-QQ-A-250/11 and AMS-4027 specifications, and has a standard tolerance. This aluminum has a T651 temper, meaning it has been heat treated for increased strength.
