2024 is the most widely used 2000 series aluminum alloy. With good fatigue resistance–especially in thicker plate gauges–aluminum alloy 2024 T351 temper continues to be utilized for many aerospace structural applications. It combines light weight, strength, moderate toughness, resistance to corrosion, and good machinability.
Our 2024 T351 aluminum plate has an unpolished (mill) surface, meets ASTM B209 and/or AMS-QQ-A-250/4 and AMS-4037 specifications, and has a standard tolerance. This aluminum has a T351 temper, meaning it has been heat treated for increased strength and stretched to reduce stress.
