7075 is the most widely used high strength aluminum alloy. Although newer 7000 alloys have since been developed with improved specific properties, alloy 7075 T651 temper remains the most popular, exhibiting a good balance of properties required for aerospace, automotive, plastic molds, and highly stressed applications. 7075 T651 combines machinability, moderate toughness, resistance to corrosion and a good strength to weight ratio.
Our extruded bar meets AMS-QQ-A-200/11, AMS-4154 or AMS-4169, and/or ASTM B221 specifications, while our cold finish bar is certified to AMS-QQ-A-225/9, AMS-4123, and/or ASTM B211. We also cut “custom bar” from plate, with mill test reports per AMS-QQ-A-250/12, AMS-4045, and/or ASTM B209.
